Seoul Meta Week 2026

Last Friday, I had the privilege of speaking at Seoul Meta Week 2026 on “How Global AI Platforms Are Redefining Work.” It was an honour to join an outstanding lineup of researchers, founders, enterprise leaders and policymakers exploring the future of AI.

One thing stood out across almost every session: the conversation has shifted.

The question is no longer whether AI will transform industries, but how organisations become truly AI-native. From Hyundai’s advances in robotics and spatial AI, to discussions on sovereign AI, agentic systems, enterprise transformation and workforce redesign, the focus was firmly on execution rather than experimentation.

What also impressed me was Korea’s AI readiness. The combination of world-class infrastructure, deep technical talent and strong public-private collaboration creates an environment where ambitious ideas can move quickly from research into practice. The seemingly ubiquitous presence of AI and related content was pervasive across the journey from Airport, to hotel, conference venue and TV and newspaper. One notable headline, rather humorously titled Korea’s ‘fake news’ law, was a clear indication of intent against the malicious use of AI in Korea.

Beyond the technology, I was struck by the professionalism of the event itself. The organisation was impeccable, and real-time AI translation meant language was never a barrier to meaningful discussion, a powerful reminder of AI quietly enabling global collaboration.

A sincere thank you to Minjee ParkSeunghee Cho, and the entire Seoul Meta Week team for the warm hospitality, and to my colleague Sally Nowroozi, whose presentation last year helped open the door for this year’s invitation.

I left Seoul with even greater confidence that the future belongs to organisations that invest not just in AI capabilities, but in people, culture and the platforms that bring them together.
